lyrics
The ibizitarian Character
Dull sounds and slogans /
where the words are missing. /
They need each other to feel strong. /
Someone who laughs about their bad jokes. /
Someone who maintains their limited world view /
before it collapses. /
Without confirmation they are nothing. /
I'm not afraid. /
I'm not afraid. /
I'm not afraid of you. /

6 days into 2023 and we already got an album of the year contender. This is a record that could have come out at the turn of the millenium and sat comfortably alongside LPs by Orchid, Saetia, Portraits of Past, pg.99 and City of Caterpillar. This thing is a wrenching, beautiful journey that almost plays like one long composition. It's chaotic and brutal at times, but also lovingly crafted and played with precision and wild abandon in equal measure. This sad, violent noise deserves listeners. Andy Johnston
Atmospheric black metal band Sadness and experimental screamo band To Be Gentle channel intense emotions on this split single. Bandcamp New & Notable Sep 28, 2021
